Mr Eric Hanberg, an author and entrepreneur in Tacoma. He gave us a wonderful presentation about his business experiences, his novels and some facts for the American authors. In my mind, Mr Hanberg is a successful author with comprehensive knowledge of business. He not only published several novels, but also, he is the co-founder of channel 253 which is a popular channel in Tacoma. And, Mr Eric Hanberg is also marketing and communications manager for KNKX Public Radio. I found two interesting points from Mr Eric's presentation. Firstly, Mr Eric explains that the famous author is a one highest pay job in the United States. It has a great different between China and the United States. In China, there are many people are lack of the copyright awareness. So, they like to read the free copy or unofficial version of books or eBooks instead of paying for the authorized books or eBooks. The phenomena of pirate is still a serious problem in China. So, the writers are more difficult to make money in China than in the United States. The second interesting point that I found from Mr Eric's presentation is "Why is podcasting working". To be honest, I am hardly to listen to the podcasting, I consider that is too old school. However, Mr Eric used several example(such as "Podcast format" "iPod then iPhone" )to explain that how podcasting working. These examples let me know that podcasting is also a efficient way to spread the information or commercial advertising. All in all, I got some new knowledge from Mr Eric Hanberg's presentaion.
